Samuel Thomson is an Ottawa-based traditional printmaker and illustrator specializing in linocut. His passion for high-contrast, hard-carved imagery began at the Bealart program in London, Ontario, and has since grown into an independent practice.

Meet the Hemingway Scholars of The Killers

This is something new for us. For the first time, we've commissioned original commentary from scholars to accompany one of our editions — new critical perspectives, written expressly for this book, sitting alongside the text itself.

Working with Michael Von Cannon and Mark Cirino on this has been one of the real pleasures of putting this edition together. Their commentary doesn't just explain the story — it opens it up in ways I hadn't fully seen myself, even after years of loving this work.

Michael Von Cannon teaches modern American literature at Florida Gulf Coast University. He is the co-creator and producer of One True Podcast and is co-editing the final volumes of Hemingway's correspondence for the Hemingway Letters Project.
